I’m a lifelong Cedar Rapidian who understands how vital strong public schools are to our community. Though I attended private schools, that perspective is one reason I’m running. I’m deeply concerned about the voucher system and its harm to public education.

My Cedar Rapids roots run deep. I’ve been a CNA delivering babies - many of whom are now entering public school for the first time. I have served as a campaign organizer, fighting to elect progressive leaders. I’ve furthered community support for youth in the foster care system, and advanced women’s leadership opportunities through the Junior League of Cedar Rapids. I now work for the Cedar Rapids Public Library and Foundation, contributing to the Westside Library Project. I am so proud of these ways we are growing and improving Cedar Rapids in meaningful ways.

These experiences collectively have taught, continue to teach, me the power of equity, access, and education as the great equalizer. I want to bring that commitment to the board by supporting teachers, strengthening our schools, and ensuring every student can thrive.

Thank you for being here!

Sincerely,

Hello & Welcome!

My Priorities

Fiscal decisions based on values

I am well-informed, prepared, and data-driven in every decision to be a good steward of district funds.

Public dollars belong in public schools

I remain firm against the voucher program. Every public dollar belongs in our public school classrooms.

Safe, modern schools for all students

I back the $117M Believe in CR Schools bond to give every student a safe, inspiring space to learn & to remain a competitive district for years to come.

Support for educators & staff

I plan to protect wages, planning time, and student play time, as well as amplify concerns & working conditions of paraeducators.

My Values

Collaboration over conflict

I’ll work with teachers, staff & families - not against them. I value building strong communication lines and re-establishing trust between the Board and admin, Board and district staff, and Board and the Cedar Rapids community.

Advocacy that leads

I will bring my experience as an organizer to empower our community to advocate alongside me. We need leaders who can inspire others to speak up for public education.

Transparency you can trust

No politics, no games. Just clear communication and accountability. I am open to exploring new avenues and opportunities for the Board and administration to be more accessible to the community. I don’t shy away from important and difficult discussions.

Ready to listen, ready to lead

I am a new voice for our students, staff, and families. Business as usual isn’t working. It’s time for change so we can move forward, together.
